How do I request a new Manufacturer?

New Manufacturers are not added to WPA, we continue to add them to our PLM systems.  Manufacturers will be fed to WPA when a MPN related to that new Manufacturer is approved on a notice. At that point it writes to WPA to allow the request of a Material Declaration. Below is the process to request a new Manufacturer:

How does the Motorola Part Status map to the old W18 Status?

WPA utilizes the following W18 Specs:

  • W18 (1) - ECOMOTO

  • W18 (5) - MD

  • W18 (2) - Home

  • W18 (SURFACE) - MD and Home

Calculations are performed to write back our "old" W18 statuses to downstream systems. The following chart illustrates how the write back works:

ITEM_LST - Used for BOM Grading via a File

Used for BOM Grading with a file, a ITEM_LIST file is simply a text file (Note Pad or Word Pad) which lists Motorola Item Numbers one per row:

ITEM_LST_CSV - Used for BOM Grading via a File

Used for BOM Grading with a file, a ITEM_LIST_CSV file is an Excel csv file which lists Motorola Item Numbers one per row:

What specifications do we grade against in WPA?

  • W18 (1) - ECOMOTO

  • W18 (5) - MD

  • W18 (2) - Home

  • W18 (SURFACE) - MD and Home

  • RoHS (CONSUMER) - MD and Home

  • RoHS (INFRASTRUCTURE) - Home

  • REACH (SVHC AUTHORIZATION) - MD and Home

  • REACH (SVHC CANDIDATE) - MD and Home

Substance of Concern Reporting Levels

There are two types of Reporting Levels for SoC reports:

  1. Flat aggregation: The application ignores the assembly structure information and only information about end parts is included in a BOM report

  2. Total aggregation: The application rolls up all the material contents of subparts to BOM and the aggregated material content or SoC report is generated for BOM
